Well, first I don’t know what “TM” stands for; but assume they are as you say professional advisors in this forum. Your recommendation of them is glowing. How is their help accessed?
Sorry, about that. We call all the Vendors/Manufacturers on the MattressUnderGround, “Trusted Members” or TMs.
If you have a question or need help from any of them, they are always happy to help and actually prefer to get involved in the decision process. I actually just spoke to this here. Referring to the quote on being unsure about what to order at the end of the post.
Some of the TMs have been here for more than 10+ years and going strong, a testament to their commitment to quality and customer service.
Best of luck on your search and finding a better match this time around.
We are always here to help.

Man, I so wish I had seen the advice here before I made my $1100 mistake - starting with the “4 Rs” you mention. Of course!
I am trying to adjust to that mistake mattress. Thankfully it is the “plush”. But I still deal with neck/shoulder/arms/hands pain and numbness that I didn’t have before. The effects stay all day, only easing a little toward the end of the day - which then start all over again.
I try different pillows - even crafting my own.
Last night I actually slept in the “zero gravity” position which would have been heavenly if not for the neck/shoulders/arms/hands pain.
I have slept in the head raised position mostly over 20+ years.
I am female with a BMI of 35.5. I am a side sleeper.
Normally I do not suffer with general body pain.
Up until the beginning of July I slept on what I considered to be the best mattress in the world. I would describe it as a ‘marshmallow but with support’…until suddenly the support was gone.
I had stumbled on it 5 years before when in Mattress Firm shopping for a mattress for my husband. It was on display and I instantly loved it; bought a (twin XL) floor model for half of the $3500 price. I had not realized how much I needed that mattress! Felt like I was on the yacht of mattresses!
I now know it was a Mattress Firm brand, discontinued but built by Dormeo with the Octaspring technology. I have been in touch with them and shopped their website. Price is quite high. Still, given the comfort I enjoyed with my old, failed mattress I would consider stretching for it except for the overall terrible reviews given both their mattresses and customer service. And as I mentioned my
wonderful mattress failed after only 5 years. The “octasprings” are foam - which makes sense that it would fail.

I have learned all this only after making my mattress purchase mistake. I shopped various local mattress stores thinking ‘I must need a hybrid since the loss of support of my mattress was killing me’.
One of my considerations was a Tempurpedic pro adapt medium hybrid, which I re-tested 3 times in the store. But the longer I remained on it, the ‘harder’ it felt to me; too firm.
It was after the 3rd time, and in my exhaustion from not resting that I went in to Mark’s Mattress Outlet and thought this Glacier mattress felt softer, and cost less, and I pulled the trigger. Bad mistake. Did not even question the “4 Rs”
The MMO’s store manager is on vacation until Aug 27th. I do not plan to put additional money into the “comfort exchange” they have offered. It is an expensive lesson, but I will have to try afresh elsewhere where there are more options.
I still don’t know where to start except I know I do not want ‘firm’.
I wonder how firm or soft one labeled “medium” actually is.
I wonder if latex would be for me.
The brands that offer latex layers in different comfort levels that can be restacked in a zippered cover look like ‘how can it miss’. But I am too aware now that I will know only after sleeping on it.
Also my “wonder” mattress had a zip-off cover which I saved, and has made a difference in the comfort of my “mistake” mattress. So I am attracted to the mattresses with a zip-off cover. And that have the smooth, rounded edges as opposed to the ones with a seam.
Other than that, I don’t know if I should shop hybrid or all foam.
Hope I have given the facts in somewhat organized method.
Thanks
