Yeah the 13s are firm. Any options through Naturepedic? Are you sure they are TPS coils? So your wife went with plush or medium and you went with firm or cushion firm? Is that latex you have tal or dunlop? Have you tried your wifes coils with your comfort layer?
According to TPS, Naturepedic uses TPSâs patented machinery but produce their own units. Matan wasnât sure the coil diameter theyâre using in the build, so couldnât compare to the ones on the website.
There are only 2 coils with Naturepedic. Plush and Firm. Iâve tried all the different top layer combinations on both of our sides, with the EOS dunlop latex toplayers, think I would just prefer a more medium to medium firm coil instead of extra-firm or medium-plush.
NP EOS classic? Do you have access to the coils directly? Do you have a caliper by any chance? I threw NP a message just to ask what the coil gauges are im curious myself.
ANother MU thread mentioned this:Naturepedic EOS Classic plush coils: 910 coils, gauge 15.5.
The diameter of my coils are about 2". Unless by diameter you mean gauge. Not the turn diameter.
The coil options on the Classic and the Pillowtop are the exact same- only difference is 2 layers of 3" Latex on the Pillowtop vs 1 layer of the 3" latex on the Classic. I have been sleeping on it as a âclassicâ because I decided 6" of latex above the coils was too much, though I did try it initially. I donât know the coil diameter, but I can check in about a week when I return home.
I mean if they appear to be 15 g (wifes side) and you tried it already with the mats you have then maybe 14 is the way to go. Ill keep an eye on NP email see what they say.
Got the email today.
Question: Naturepedic EOS. I was wondering the coil guage used on the Firm and Plush coils?
Hello,
Thank you for your email. The plush uses 13.5GA perimeter 15.5GA in the center, the firm uses 13.5GA perimeter and 14.5GA in the center. Please contact Customer Service should you need further assistance.
So it looks like you already have the 14âs. A caliper would help verify that. THe inner springs as the perimeter IS actually 13 according to Naturepedic.
Hi there,
Sorry, just checked my email. I ended up going with the 15.5 with firm sides. No regrets so far. Current build is (bottom to top) 0.5 LUX-HD foam, 8" TPS 15.5 coils, 0.5 LUX-HD, 2" LMF talalay med, and then 0.5 of cheap polyfoam. Bed has been great, but my wife and I arenât super picky either.
I have weird 0.5 layers because I wanted some flexibility when assembling it. Bed has broken in a bit over the past 3 weeks, so itâs slightly softer, but still supportive. Moving forward, I think I am going to encase coils plus LUX foam. Then depending on how that firms up the bed, potentially swap the top poly foam with 1 more inch of latex.
I think 15.5 will be fine. My understanding is that the 14.75 would be more akin to sleeping on the floor with a blanket. Which we donât mind, but the extra conforming has been nice. We always associated âsoftâ beds with no support, so itâs been eye opening to realize you can have softness and support when layered well. I would say our bed is around med to med firm.
Nice. Yeah for sure. I like the 15 too. Im glad I didnt get the 14 after alot of debating. It doesnt sink in too much at all. Just right for me.
Thank you guys! I think I will take my chances with the 15.5g. Appreciate all the helpful insight!
As an update, I received the 15.5g coils yesterday and they are the perfect firmness for what I was looking for.
Maybe a dumb question- does anyone know if there is a designated Top or Bottom to the TPS Coils? Want to make sure I am sleeping on the right side.
Glad to hear.
I asked Matan that question. The markings are purely manu related. They can be used on either side.
