Almost pulled the trigger, but I have reservations

I have this in my cart, and I’m having a hard time ordering due to uncertainty:

Top: 100% Natural Talalay - Medium
2nd: 100% Natural Talalay - Medium | Medium
3rd: 100% Natural Dunlop - Firm | Firm
Bottom: 100% Natural Dunlop - Extra Firm | Extra Firm

I am 5’10", 220 lbs, I fall asleep on my stomach and wake up on my back. My wife is 5’9", 140 lbs, and is a side-to-back sleeper. She prefers a firm mattress, and so do I, but not rock hard.

My biggest problem is that I have no clue if I would like a latex mattress or not… I haven’t seen anything latex wise in the shops around here, except for tempurpedic(which is memory foam and not what I’m looking for). I’m afraid it will be too firm, and that we’ll need a soft top layer instead. I’m also concerned because I’m a hot sleeper, and I need something that stays cool.

I’m not sure how much I trust any 90-day layer change(is it easy to change them out?), or returns… I do like a 13" mattress as it’ll work well with my existing base. I guess I just need some reassurance in these areas, as I’m ready for a new mattress… Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello PerfectMattressPlz

Thank you kindly for your inquiry! I understand your reluctance in purchasing a mattress online, sight unseen. However, the 90-day comfort exchange guarantee does take away most of the risk involved in purchasing without trying. You can exchange comfort layers as many times as needed, for 90 days. We offer easy illustrated step by step instructions for repackaging your exchanged/return layer, which you can find here: Layer Exchanges - Sleep EZ. Furthermore, the ability to unzip your mattress cover and rearrange your comfort layers in the comfort of your own home further adds to your purchase being a risk-free one.

Based on the information you so kindly provided, I would agree that a medium (Talalay) over medium (Talalay) over firm (Dunlop) over X-firm (Dunlop) is a good place to start for the both of you. At 220lbs, the medium over medium Talalay should offer plenty of contour for you. However, should this be a bit too soft for your stomach-sleeping, then you can simply unzip your cover and rearrange your layers, one step at a time, until you have achieved the support you need. At 140lbs, this configuration should also be a nice starting point for your wife as well. Due to her preferring a more supportive feel, the medium over medium (as opposed to soft over medium) is what I would recommend, and should still provide her with the contour she needs by having the top two layers be Talalay.

SleepEZ is always a phone call away should you ever need guidance with your mattress configurations. We take pride in personalized customer service, and are more than happy to help you find the perfect sleep! Please feel free to call as well, should you have more questions - 480-966-8731. Thanks for your response and information - Just ordered. Will review once I’ve had a chance to test it out for a while.
