Are these dunlop latex densities within the realm of normal for the industry?

OK - we’ve decided on our mattress. It’s a 4-layer latex mattress from a local supplier, diynaturalbedding.

Before making the final order, I wanted to verify that these densities are “normal” for dunlop latex, and I should see the miraculous 15+ year lifespan that is reported for natural latex. I’m counting on innate durability here, because although the latex comes with a 15-year warranty, this is a one-woman operation working out of her house, so I can’t be 100% sure where she will be in 15 years if I need to redeem the warranty.

I’m getting 2 layers of soft, 1 layer of medium, and 1 layer of extra firm. This is actually softer than one of your recommended suppliers (foam sweet foam) will sell it - they won’t use soft dunlop on the second layer. Not sure why, or if this should be a red flag.

But, my wife wanted a really soft mattress, and since I love her, I’m going with it (I can sleep on anything, anywhere). They have a 60-day exchange program if we change our mind, though we pay shipping on exchanges.

The densites:
Soft: 17-25 ILD or 3.75lb/cuft
Medium: 26-30 ILD or 4.37lb/cuft
Firm: 31-35 ILD or 5lb/cuft
Extra Firm: 36-42 ILD or 5.62 lb/cuft
Hard: 43-48 ILD or 6.25 lb/cuft (generally used for upholsetery, not mattresses)

A range of 55 kg/M3 to 95 kg/M3 is quite “normal” for Dunlop latex from “ultra plush” to “extra firm”, and the densities you listed would fall within that range.

Thank you - very helpful. We bought the mattress (Soft/Soft/Medium/XFirm). Should be here in about two weeks.

Unfortunately, the bed we want to put it on won’t be here for three weeks…
