Can someone find me the specifications and recommendation if I liked the Park Place Belle Haven mattress?

I remember getting this mattress years ago and it was great, I’m having a hard time finding the specs and website for the company as well. I’m a 5’6 130lbs 20 yr old male and I would appreciate your input on this spring mattress and a related one to get. This one firmed up now but it lasted like 7 to 8 years. It was a medium firmness mattress iirc.

I am a side sleeper.

Hi jsohi and new MUGster,
Welcome to the MattressUnderGround,

In the short research I was able to do, there was not much information on this mattress. Reading through the description, I must say it is a little smoke and mirrors. The reality is anyone can fall in love with any mattress they come to like, whether that mattress is made from quality materials or from synthetic materials.

When you read their blog (or what’s left of it) Haven Blog for Belle Haven Mattress, it is basically a bunch of word salad. Now that doesnt make the mattress a bad one, good one, comfortable or uncomfortable. As I stated, if it works for an individual, it is the best thing since sliced bread. It talks about GSM’s cooling properties, plant based materials. If you have ever seen a mattress made with plant based materials, they comprise less plant materials than you might think.

Plant-Based or Soy Mattresses are not Healthy

Today, we’re delving into the world of plant-based or eco foam mattresses to help you make an informed decision when it comes to your sleep. While these mattresses are often marketed as a healthier and more sustainable option, let’s dig deeper to understand whether they live up to the claims.

So what are these “soy mattresses” and “soy pillows” all about?

Only 5-20% of the mattress is actually made up of plant-based ingredients like soy. That means over 80% is still petroleum-based chemicals. Clearly not plant-based.

This would be fine if companies marketed them as eco-friendly mattresses that contain X% of soy. However, companies mislead you, calling them eco memory foam mattresses or plant-based organic mattresses and pretend they’re healthy, safe and natural.

Word salad is not all salad! Eco Friendly or not so much

Now if you are talking about latex mattresses, the story changes a bit. Latex mattresses can be considered “plant based” too, but Haven does not mention latex, and we would know if they utilized the much more expensive, durable and quality latex materials (as many of our Trusted Members utilize) you bet they would be screaming about it in their blog.

The fact is a finding the right mattress is going to depend on your PPP’s (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences) body profile and sleep position. It is worth mentioning again, that a mattress need not be all natural, organic, or use exotic materials to be comfortable. It does make a manufacturer more credible when they either list their components and specifications right on their website or company literature, or will provide that information upon request.

At this point, there are so many unknowns about the Belle Haven Park Place mattress, it would be next to impossible to make recommendations based on that mattress.

Perhaps, if you were able to provide a bit more information about what you like in so far as the feel of the mattress, if you like the “sinking” snuggle hugging feeling vs the sleep on top of the mattress feel. That would help start the process getting you to a comfortable sleeping environment.

Welcome to TMU,

Norm
