Have muscular dystrophy and chronic pain, wondering if the RejuvenatePremier is my best bet?

Hello all! My disability causes me general muscle weakness that comes with a great deal of chronic pain. Because of this I recently got a Bear Elite Hybrid mattress because it came highly reviewed but frankly it’s not really much better than my old tempurpedic mattress I’d had since I was a teenager.

In general I’ve found that purple seat cushions are quite helpful when it comes my chronic pain. Specifically I’ve found the Royal cushion to provide some benefit. I’m wondering if this means the purple mattresses are my best option? The RejuvenatePremier seems appealing, but the price is very much the opposite lol. Unfortunately there are no mattress stores near me that sell the RejuvenatePremier so I can’t exactly go and try it myself to see if it would be worth the price.

To clarify, I think I prefer firmer mattresses, but it’s honestly been a while since I’ve tried anything else and I would be willing to experiment here. That said, there is just so much mattress information out there so I’d love if someone could help me figure out what would be best for me and my situation. Thanks :slight_smile: !

@BackScience

I wouldnt buy anything unless you try it.

I did buy a Purple 4 in 2018 and after night 2, I started having back pain and I had to return it. Great pressure relief, but support was nonexistent. Just because you like the Purple seat cudhiom doesnt mean much.

I am a bit wary of Purple now. I did check out Purple Rejuvenate last year and it did feel good, but I didnt get it. I think Purple bought Intellibed and the Purple Luxe collection is basically Intellibed. Some say Intellibed was better.

I did get a Back Science 2. It feels like Purple but with back support. With your disability, are you looking more for pressure relief or support? BS2 has both but is a luxury firm and is for back and side sleepers. BS3 is softer and more plush and more for side sleepers.

As @BillyIdol noted, It is important for you to know that the feel of a Purple mattress is quite different from the feel of a Purple cushion. The grid technology is not as prominent or comfortable when lying down as it is when sitting, so they usually place it down lower, which will negate some of what you are going for and even if it is higher-up, the grid does not feel as good when you lighter body is lying on it, Vs. when you sit on the cushion.

While I’m not able to give medical advice and recommend that you seek advice from your physician who knows your situation best, I can say that the Back Science mattress was created to properly balance the spine by allowing the hips to retain more buoyancy than the lighter shoulders and legs, thanks to its patent-pending Lumbar-Flex double Zoned Support that will allow the spine to remain in a level position. This can be crucial for preventing and alleviating lower back pain, especially for those who carry more weight in their hips. The zoned support also helps to prevent sagging in the middle of the mattress over time, which is a common issue with traditional innerspring mattresses.

The luxury-firm feel of the Series 2 would specifically be the best fit for you both since it works with all sleeping positions and will give you a high level of pressure relief for your shoulders, while giving you more buoyant support for your hips and low back. The combination of the hypergel pressure relieving lift, along with the over 1000 count individually wrapped coils with Quantum edge support 2 ensures that it will hold up well over time, even with your husband’s weight. This means you can say goodbye to that sinking feeling and enjoy consistent comfort and support for years to come.

While I believe the standard Series 2 should be a great fit for you, it’s worth noting that Back Science mattresses offer customizable layers. This means that if you find the mattress isn’t quite perfect for you initially, you can adjust the firmness and support levels to achieve your ideal comfort. It’s like having the best of both worlds: a tried-and-tested mattress with the flexibility to make DIY customizations if needed.

You can also feel great knowing that we also offer a 365-night sleep trial, so you can try out the Back Science Series 2 in your own home risk-free. If for some reason, you’re not completely satisfied, we have several options. We can send you the DIY layers to change out, or we can even change it for another mattress. And if we can’t fix it, you can return the mattress without any restocking fees.

If the Series 2 is out of your price budget, you may want to consider the Essentials model, as it may be an all foam design, but it does still have the Lumbar-Flex lower back support zoning.
