Healthy Back Embrace 2.0 Energy manufacturer/equivalent

Hi everyone,

We really like our Embrace Energy and with the Healthy Back stores going out of business, we don’t know how to find a substitute. Does anyone know who manufactured these or how we can find an equivalent?

Thanks!

Hi Polarbaryon,

Welcome to the Mattress UnderGround and joining as a new MUGster.

It appears that Healthy Back have effectively closed operations as of Sept 2023.

The mattress that you own offered these features.

9" Mattress consisting of:

Quilt/Top Layers

Strech knit cover

Comfort Layers

1" ventilated memory foam

1.5" standard memory foam

Support System:

6.5" supportive base memory foam

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Please bear in mind that these mattresses are not ones we would recommend based on the level of these foams. They are simply the closest matches I could find to yours.

Additionally, it’s difficult to determine how equivalent the foams are, as none of them provide specific details beyond stating they have three layers: ventilated memory foam, standard memory foam, and a support base memory foam. This is somewhat different from the Embrace 2.0.

I hope this information is helpful, but please be cautious with these lower-grade options.

Wow, thanks so much. What would you recommend as a high grade version? What we like about it is that it’s relatively firm but not too much so. (Sorry that’s the best I can do). As a counterexample, Tempurpedics were too sinky/soft for us and we returned the 6k version.

I agree with your characterization of Tempur-Pedic mattresses. While I love their pillow line, their mattresses can be quite finicky. Regardless of how firm they start out, they tend to swallow you like slow quicksand as the mattress adjusts to your body temperature. On a warm day with no air conditioning, you come home to a soft mattress, whereas on a winter day or in a cold air-conditioned room, you experience a firm mattress slowly softening, heat surrounding, feeling of sinking soft surface, although for some the pressure relief is great.

This mattress could be a nice alternative it is a few inches of memory foam over HD foam, and the price is reasonable with the extra discounts he will offer.

If you don’t mind having a spring support base while still wanting a higher-quality synthetic foam mattress, @dlx and @EngineeredSleep offer several suitable options.

Most Trusted Members here strive to use more natural foams and fibers in their mattresses. Natural foams, primarily latex, have a distinct feel compared to synthetic ones and are generally considered more durable and long-lasting. This is provided that manufacturers adhere to the high-quality control measures demanded by Trusted Members. As with any product, even the best materials must be manufactured under strict quality controls to ensure a good final product. Without this, high-quality materials can result in a subpar product.

Of course, mattresses made with higher quality synthetic foams are a quality option. Some folks are allergic to latex and have to find a quality suitable alternative that the synthetic options offer.

There are quality options in both of those genres, the key is quality.

Of course, I always offer this bit of advice: The best mattress with the best quality materials is only the best if it works and is comfortable for you. While we may not advocate for lower-quality foam mattresses, everyone’s tastes and preferences are different, leading to unique experiences. If something works for you, it’s hard to argue with success, even if the quality is subpar. This might mean needing multiple purchases over time, but no one can dictate your personal comfort.

As with most things, the level of quality can serve as a predictor of durability and longevity. Comfort, on the other hand, is highly individual and personal.

Hopefully, this gives you a starting point to begin your new search.

Update: According to Ben at Yawnder, he mentioned that the Yawnder All Foam mattress might have a slightly sinkish feel, since it is unknown regarding your Embrace, it is hard to determine how it would compare.

He suggested considering the Mlily WellFlex 1 mattress as a better alternative to avoid this sinking sensation. The Plank All Foam is a very firm alternative too. It’s worth noting that these mattresses are an enhanced version of the type of construction vs how the Embrace appears to be constructed, featuring a supportive foam support layer, gel memory foam, and an advanced knit cover designed to absorb the ambient temperature of the room. Within this price range, there are numerous options available to explore.

Thanks so much for this. I’ve been texting with Yawnder (I don’t know if it’s Ben) and whoever is on the other end suggests that the 1.0 is the firmest mattress in the store, and that although the 2.0 is medium firm, the whole line runs firm. I think I’m going to go with a 2.0 and see how it goes. Thanks so much for your help!

Ben is very good and a really good guy. I know you will enjoy any mattress he suggests, if not, he will make it right. I was going to suggest the plank, but I think that would be too firm. The 2.0 is the sweet spot in between.
Good luck with it!

Thanks! So I was going to use the promo code but it doesn’t seem to be working–any chance you have another?
