Hello, I am trying to find a suitable mattress that matches one my fiancee got the best nights of sleep on! I remember thinking the mattress was very supportive but had a soft pillow top. Like sleeping on a down comforter. I quickly snapped a pic of it assuming I could easily google it and purchase one similar. Could anyone identify the mattress?
That appears to be an Englander brand 21st Century Venetian Visco Pillowtop. It’s an older model. I’ve confirmed they were producing these at least as far back as like 2000-2005.
Checking the Englander site, it doesn’t appear they’re producing those anymore. But I also found that Englander is a licensee brand, so the different offerings would likely depend on region and that particular manufacturer. Further digging seems to indicate they shut down one of their plants in Georgia rougly a decade or so ago and that one seems to be where these were made. This could be entirely wrong, though. I’m going based on snippets around the internet (and even a post referencing a very similar model on the TMU forum).
Based on the name, I’d assume it was a pillow top that uses Visco foam, which is just another name for memory foam.
I can’t speak to this store’s quality/integrity, but this was the closest I could find in terms of actively available mattresses:
Without knowing more about the specific density of that foam, or what other support and comfort materials were used, though, I can’t provide much more info. I’m sorry ):

Thanks Rowan! I came to a similar conclusion but the visco foam is a great find. I thought we didn’t like memory foam but maybe it was an old and very broken in mf pillow top… I thought I wanted to go with a wool topper but maybe I should be looking for mf.

I know latex is recommended a lot here, but I’d recommend trying out a latex topper in a store if you can! I’ve found it a lot comfier than regular MF. Or perhaps quilted wool over latex, which is a pretty common combo you’ll see with latex mattress manufacturers. Wool is a really lovely option too, and I don’t think you can go wrong there.

Thanks, I was looking at the 12” DLX premier, or the ES today and find a big wool topper. Havent decided so we’re still sleeping in the guest room lol
