Greetings,
I was wondering if someone could offer some suggestions for a topper that could fine tune my build which I’m generally really happy with.
I built a split king. Same base layers but different top layers. Dunlop firm 3", Dunlop medium 3", Talalay soft 3" one side, Talalay medium 3" other side). This is on top of an adjustable Leggett & Platt frame.
I’m male, 5, 6", weigh 143 (guess that’s about a 23 BMI) and sleep almost solely on my side and sometimes sleep hot. I use a shredded memory foam pillow with a pretty decent loft. I sleep on the softer side. It feels really nice but a bit firmer than I expected and notice some shoulder pain at night. I don’t think I need a lot to make it perfect. Last night I used a 1 inch cheap old polyurethane topper (super soft) and that actually worked pretty well to give some context. Looking for something to soften that top layer up a wee bit. I don’t think I need a whole lot done since that 1 inch pretty shot polyurethane made a noticeable difference.
Searching through various threads I was thinking 2" serene topper might be a good fit.
Was also looking at the SOL 2 inch topper “soft”. I think that’s the same density of my current top layer which is talalay but the SOL is Dunlop. Not sure if putting 2" soft dunlop over 3" soft talalay would be an odd choice? Could get another soft talalay but SOP doesn’t have that option and I like their return policy if it doesn’t work out.
Any thoughts on those two options or maybe something else? Looking to make the top a little more plush and add a bit more cushion for shoulder.
Thinking memory foam may be a bit hot but not totally against it.
Thanks!
