I have slept on a Casper Nova Hybrid for one year now. I am starting to have a lot of issues with hip pain when I sleep. It’s getting bad enough that it wakes me up and causes me to change positions, and the pain lingers a while during the day. I am a side sleeper. I’m a big guy at 6’4" and 245 pounds. I’ve already tried all types of different toppers to relieve the pressure. Some of them do the job pretty well, but I have found them to be uncomfortable for other reasons. I think I am done looking for a topper as a solution.
But I had another idea before we get rid of the bed. We are currently using the Casper foundation with the wood slats. I know that is generally recommended over a box spring. However, if we use a box spring instead, would that relieve some pressure at my hips by allowing the mattress to have a little more give? Are there any other concerns with using a box spring with that type of bed? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
