Obviously extremely disappointed that it took so short to wear through a $2400 mattress.
I don’t know what to do at this point. How do I know how many layers to replace? Why did this happen?
My back hurts ridiculously when I wake up. Sleeping on my wife’s side I wake up with no pain whatsoever. I have tested it numerous times, and both of us can feel the large dip on my side. I rotated all the layers (moved head side to feet) and it made no difference.
When we first got the mattress I tried every single combination I possibly could, exchanged layers and tried even more. I tried every single combo going from a softer top to a firmer bottom, with dunlop as the bottom 2 layers and talalay as the top 2. Actually I think it was dunlop on the bottom 3 layers, but I am not sure, I have to sort through all the past emails and try to remember before confirming. Foam was not blended. I logged everything and put a lot of effort into it, as my previous Novaform Serafina was such a piece of crap, and the SleepEZ mattress was so expensive and as told in a SleepEZ email, “a latex mattress is designed to be a 20 year mattress, and the difference in longevity is a couple of years at the most”. I tested many combinations at a local store about about 6 separate times before buying, which I made a thread here about. This lead to the right mattress combo for me, but it is unacceptable that it only lasts this long.
I had narrowed down my preferred layers from the store trials but was convinced to go stiffer by the SleepEZ rep. When I used the combo I was initially sent, it was far far too stiff and had to exchange layers as my arms were falling asleep. The layers I ended up staying with were the ones I would have gotten at the beginning, which I should have just ordered to begin with due to the testing I did in store. Anyway, I was about to post what my layers are now and were at the beginning, but I will open up the mattress to be sure beforehand.
