Hello - We just purchased a new King size mattress from a local store that makes them at the store. We had it delivered yesterday and to our surprise the mattress measured out to be 78x75 and the standard size is 80x76. Do these vary in size from mattress? Issue is we have a new platform and the inside opening is 82x77 and this just looks like an eye sore. We have requested a new mattress be made to industry spec.

You can see some of the variations in “standard” sizing and tolerances in post #3 here and it can vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer but assuming that your measurements are correct then your mattress does seem to be slightly outside of most normal tolerances to me (although there are others I’ve seen that were even worse).
