Is latex the same from one manufacturer to another?

All things being equal, is a 100% certified natural organic dunlop latex mattress or 100% talalay mattress comparable from one manufacturer to another assuming the same size, same density, same manufacturing process, etc. or are there variations that set them apart?

Thanks

There are only 2 companies in the world that make Talalay latex for mattresses (a few smaller companies are starting to make Talalay pillows, however) and there are a small handful of companies that make Dunlop latex. As such, most latex mattress retailers get their latex from the same few places. When comparing companies, warranty and return policy is important, customer service reputation is important, and number of years in business is important as well. When comparing mattresses, ours stand out because they are tailored to every person’s individual needs and preferences. They are easily and fully adjustable because of our layered design coupled with our zippered removable cover.

When comparing one latex manufacturer to another, the ingredients and manufacturing processes are pretty much the same, so there really are only minor differences between one latex manufacturer and another, and the differences between one company and another will depend on which companies you’re comparing. If you’d like to get a detailed look at any particular mattress company, you would first have to find out who manufactures the latex used in their mattresses, then compare manufactures by looking at their individual websites and by using unbiased resources like The Mattress Underground to help you make the most informed decision.

I agree that the researching the company is as important as the mattress when shopping/comparing mattresses

But when comparing two similar latex mattresses that come from the same manufacturer, what makes a latex mattress from retailer A worth sometimes hundreds more than retailer B if both are reputable companies and offer similar trial, return and warranty policies?

Does it come down to marketplace conditions, reputation of company, etc. like any other transaction and it’s up to the consumer to make an informed decision?

I appreciate your input

Different forms of overhead are a large piece of that “puzzle,” and so is volume and profit margins. Companies with multiple showrooms incur extra overhead costs as well. Also, marketing and advertising costs are a huge factor in setting the price for a mattress. Sleep EZ is a family owned, true factory-direct company with one showroom in Tempe Arizona. We’ve been in business for 43 years and have maintained decades-long relationships with all major latex manufacturers in the world which helps lower our prices; we ship 20-30 mattresses per day and get very large bulk discounts as well. As such, we have no problem maintaining very reasonable prices while selling the best latex the world has to offer.
