Latex breathing on adjustable platform

Decided 4 layer all Latex mattress meets our needs but debating using an adjustable platform. We would like an adjustable but wife is a hot sleeper. We are concerned the adjustable platform blocks cooling airflow, where a 3" slated flat platform enables latex airflow. Can blocking mattress breathing or cooling airflow be a significant issue using an adjustable platform? Are we better off in terms of cooling using a nonadjustable, slatted, platform?

Hello JackBz

Thank you kindly for your inquiry!

The great thing about latex foam is that it is open-celled. This allows for air-flow, which means less body heat is being trapped. To take advantage of the breathability of latex, the most important component(s) are what’s on top. If you have a knitted mattress cover for example, this allows your mattress to breathe as opposed to woven or other non-breathable covers. Furthermore accessories such as sheets with a high thread count and heavy/thick comforters can also add to the lack of overall air-flow in your mattress. Placing a latex mattress on a solid platform or adjustable base is absolutely fine as long as the top of your mattress consists of breathable materials.

Thank you kindly!
