Based on reading topics here and on the website, we are looking at a hybrid. My husband and I are both a bit over 5’ tall and around 200lbs. We’ve been sleeping on a BR advantage extra firm that is developing pits after 10 years, and new BR is crap, so here we are. We love the motion isolation of pocketed coils, and edge support is important. (With 2 large pushy dogs, I often end up right at the edge). I sleep in all positions, husband is side and back mostly. We like to sleep on top of the bed rather than sinking in. Opening up our current mattress shows only the quilted cover and 2 x 1/2" sheets of PU foam over the coils. We like that firm feel, but as we accumulate age-related damage, maybe a bit of extra give would be nice. Just a bit, but not enough to make stomach sleeping impossible. Reading this forum shows that the combi-zone coils are probably not for us, since we’re short and side sleep, so we’re looking at the Eco-sleep with Bolsa upgrade or individual components. We are trying to figure out which comfort layer/layers would be best for us. Thanks for the help.
Thank you for the interest in our products. The bolsa coil is a good option for side sleeping but you will need to get the Firm Talalay option for the latex layer based on your weight and height. If more cush is needed then adding a 2" Medium or even Soft Talalay on top of the mattress would take care of that issue.
That sounds like it might be perfect. If we get the Eco-sleep with Bolsa and Firm Talalay options and we decide that one or both of us needs a firmer or softer comfort layer, do full mattress purchases come with a comfort exchange option, or would we need to return the whole thing? Unfortunately we have no place local to showroom our options, so we’re flying a bit blind.
You would just need to exchange the topper and pay the shipping costs.
Thanks for all the help. I just placed an order.
We’ve had our new mattress for a week now and it seems to be a winner. I’m putting a review over in the main forum, but also wanted to thank you again for your help and for being an alternative to Big Mattress.
Speaking of side sleeping I was wondering which one of your product I should consider for someone who primarily sleeps on their stomach? I rarely sleep on my back and occasionally on my side. I’m 280 lbs and 5’11. I’m looking at the Ecoslewo hybrid but not sure if I should stick with firm or go with medium
Based on a few months of experience, I’d say firm for sure. It gives enough support that I can sleep on my stomach without having my back arch too much. Coming from a Beautyrest extra firm, the latex felt kind of squirrely at first, but we got used to it quickly. Back, side and stomach are all comfortable.
The Ultimate Hybrid which has a zoned coil system would be a much better choice based on your info. https://www.mattresses.net/ulhypoco.html The Firm latex would be a good choice if you rarely sleep on your side but Medium if you often sleep on your side. https://www.mattresses.net/ulhypoco.html
