Latex Matress ? for Phoenex and others Is this idea pratcical?

We have older bedroom furniture that has an 80 inch wide space between two cabinet sections. We would like to utilise all of the space for two twin XL latex matress manufactured to 40 inch width each. The problem is, that the adjustable base diminisions are aprox 38 inches wide. Is it practical to have an inch hangover on each side of each base?? Anyone ever done this? Any and all replies would be appreicated.

Also, has anyone ever ordered a latex matress from Lake Matress of Conover NC and what are your opinions of them for customer service?
Thanks for reading

Adjustable bed base foundations are already made to be just a bit less in width than a normal foundation, so a small mattress overhang is normal. Depending upon the type of mattress you use you may wish to avoid sitting directly on the very edge of the product, but normally this wouldn’t be an issue and you probably wouldn’t notice it unless someone specifically brought it to your attention.

Hi jfb,

Jeff has already answered your question about the size of your base and I would agree with all the points he made and hopefully some of the forum members that have dealt with them will see your post and share their comments and feedback about Lake Mattress as well.

In the meantime a specific term site search on “Lake Mattress” and a forum search on “Lakemattress” (you can just click the links) will bring up all the comments and feedback that have mentioned them in the forum.

I have talked with Todd the owner on several occasions and think highly of him. They certainly make some good quality/value mattresses and they are experienced, knowledgeable and transparent about the materials that they use inside them.
