Hi all!
I slept on a Plasmabed out in BC last summer and loved it, but the host hasn’t got back to me about which model they had at the airbnb. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this company? I’ve searched the forum but the most recent posts are from 2015, so hoping maybe someone might have heard more about them (good or bad) in the past 9 years. There’s very little reviews about them online.
Hi htims,
When a company patients fancy names that have no real meaning other than sounding great on their website and then dont really list what those items are really made with, it tends to leave a bad taste in the mouth, along with a bit of distrust, regardless of how wonderful someone might find the product.
This is a paid blog, which dances around the subject of PlasmaBed and other materials that loosely refer to those used in the mattress and other industries.
When you break down the terminology, it appears to be a bunch of gel infused layers and fabrics.
The Plasmabed website uses a variety of what they describe as advanced materials, each designed to enhance comfort, support, and cooling during sleep.
The gelastic materials, such as Cool Gelastic, Support Gelastic, and Frosty Gelastic, are likely infused with cooling gel to help regulate body temperature and provide pressure relief. These gel layers are designed to absorb heat, creating a cooler sleeping environment and improving comfort by contouring to the body while maintaining support. I would suggest that anything that uses the word or terminology “sport” on the cover of the mattress maybe be referring to Celliant technology which is a performance textile that claims to convert body heat into infrared energy.
The SportTech Base is said to be a high-performance support layer, likely engineered for durability and optimal spinal alignment, making it especially beneficial for active individuals or athletes. It ensures a firm foundation while promoting recovery.
The Fabric/Other Materials likely refer to the outer fabric layers or any additional materials incorporated into the mattress, possibly focusing on breathability and comfort. Together, these materials work in unison to provide a balanced sleep experience, combining cooling effects, pressure relief, and tailored support.
I would suggest to find out more about exactly what their technology is and what studies they have done, is to call or contact them directly.
t seems that when companies make grand claims about technologies borrowed from other industries or fields of study, these claims are often exaggerated or embellished, particularly regarding their effectiveness when used for off-label purposes. As stated in many mattress advertisements and blogs.
Hopefully, this gives you a little head start on your research.
