Lower back pain sleepez custom king. help

Hey, I bought a king custom mattress from sleepEZ about 6 months ago… Unfortunately I barely slept on it for that time as I was getting up early for work and didn’t want to wake my wife and baby so I slept at our guest bedroom which has our old memory foam mattress.

Now that I am back in our bedroom sleeping on the mattress… I wake up at night with pain and in the morning my lower back really hurts.

Originally my side was med, med, hard. And I couldn’t figure out if I should be going softer or harder. So I first started going harder by switching to med, hard, med and finally hard, med, med… but this seemed to be just be getting worse… So I tried my wife’s side… She has soft, med, hard. And still… My back is in real pain… So I am getting really concerned.

My old memory foam matter did not / does not give me this back pain at all.

Please help…

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’ve encountered, but I’d be happy to help get the mattress dialed in for you. I’d like to get just a bit more information before I can make a detailed recommendation. If you don’t mind me asking, about how tall are you, about how much do you weigh, and do you prefer to sleep on your side, stomach, or back? Additionally, what other materials do you have between yourself and the latex while sleeping? Do you have any mattress pads, protectors, etc.? Lastly, for how many nights did you try medium/firm/medium, firm/medium/medium, and soft/medium/firm?

I am 5’10". 190 lbs. Mostly on my back and a little bit on the side. I have a 100% wool mattress pad on it. It is about 0.5" thick…

med/firm/firm I probably tried for a few weeks. then the others less as they felt really rough on me. Then the soft/med/firm - I slept on for like 3 weeks and was very good. Then it started to really hurt…

It sounds like you’re close to finding a good middle ground; based on the information you’ve provided, the next best step would be to try something between medium/medium/firm and soft/medium/firm. As such, I absolutely recommend that you try soft/firm/medium. This will retain the contour and pressure relief you’re getting out of the top layer, but you’ll get much more support for your lower back since the firm layer is closer to the surface. If you’d like to discuss this in greater detail, please call our office whenever you get a chance. We can be reached at 480-966-9282 and we’re open 7 days a week.

Hey, I swapped it as you suggested to soft, firm, med. Feels much better… But only slept on it for one night so i’l update in a couple of weeks. Thank you!
