Mattress recommendations for tweens and guest room/son

Hello. I am new to the forum here, but have been doing a good bit of research on mattresses over the past month or so. I feel like I’m back to the beginning, though, and don’t know what direction to go. I’m at a point where I need to make a decision, before I lose my mind (LOL).

I have an old queen mattress that I am looking to replace with a full size mattress (based on room size limitations) for our current guest room. It will also double as my 2-year old son’s future bed, when he gets older. We also want to replace our 11- and 13-year old daughters’ twin mattresses with new twin mattresses.

I want something that is non-toxic but it doesn’t need to be all organic. We are leaning towards hybrid mattresses, but I’ve also looked into all latex. Our daughters like plush (go figure), but I want the mattress to support their growing bodies. The guest bed can be medium to medium-firm, for combo sleepers, and our growing son.

The key things I’m looking for are:

  1. Mattresses that will last and not compress, sag, or fall apart in a few years.
  2. Materials that are as non-toxic as possible, with certifications to back it up.
  3. A reputable manufacturer with good customer service and no return fee.

I’d like to stay close to $800-$900 for the full mattress, and $500 for each twin mattress. I know everyone has their own personal taste, but I’m mainly looking for recommendations based on your long-term experience with certain mattress brands, lines and categories.

Thanks in advance!
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to our Mattress Forum

You may find the mattresses made by My Green Mattress to be a good fit in terms of budget and overall quality.

These mattresses are organic, but the same company owns Quality Sleep Shop which has natural options for reasonable prices, and of course, durability.

You may wish to browse any of our Trusted Members, though!

And of course, if someone chooses to pitch in with their tried and tested recommendations, that’d be useful

Thanks for the recommendations. I’ll keep those in consideration.
