My New Naturepedic Mattress

I purchased 2 Naturepedic EOS mattresses in a Medium Latex/Plush Coils in a queen and full in October. Unfortunately, I didn’t fully research this decision and I found your site yesterday. Dr. Mercola recommends these beds and I trusted his recommendation. These beds have 8" of coils and 3 inches of latex. The first week it felt better than my old 15 year old mattress that was a Sealy Posturepedic plush bed. Although I liked that bed till it lost its support after many years. But recently I’ve been having hip pain like bursitis which I’ve never had and a general stiffness and sore lower back. It really became apparent when we were away for 3 weeks and returned home. The bed felt extremely firm after the third night of sleep. My 22 year old daughter feels stiff and uncomfortable as well. We are both 5’ 2" and weigh 120 and 128 lbs. I contacted Naturepedic and told them my concerns and they said my only option is to swap out the medium latex top layer for a soft 3" top latex layer. I have to decide by Saturday or the 90 days will be up. My other option is to return it completely and pay 250.00 per bed to have them pick them up and credit me the difference. After reading your tutorial about comfort and support I am seriously questioning if 3" of latex could ever cradle and cushion my pressure points. I would greatly appreciate any input you have on this issue… I contacted Sleep Eeze who my chiropractor recommended after I told her about this situation and he said if you wake up with pain and stiffness you have the wrong bed. Do you think side and back sleepers like us would do better with an all latex bed compared to my current coil option? I just discovered Naturepedic has an all latex option today on their website but it is about $4000.00 which is out of my budget… They never shared that with me or explained the option the day we purchased it… Thanks so much… Lisa

Hello Lisa

Thank you for your inquiry. Do you know what type of latex is in your mattress, as well as the ILD density rating? Based on your weights, you should be sleeping on a soft Talalay (19-22ILD) over those coils.

I will await your reply. Thank you!

i had the same config, plush support and med latex. loved it the store but just couldn’t get comfortable at home. first i thought the latex was wrong density. did a number of swaps and none made me love it. finally tried the medium microcoils. MIND BLOWN. so $&&*@ comfortable. sleeps comfortably cool (way cooler than the latex top), plush but super supportive, in a very well distributed way. hard to describe, but i love it. so glad i finally tried the microcoils and i was almost resigned to having a $3500 mattress i didn’t love. plush support coils. medium microcoils. hope it’s not too late for you to try this.
