Naturepedic Microcoils

Hi all, I’ve been trying to read through the posts. I have a Naturepedic EOS Pillowtop and started developing low back pain in my sacral area after a few weeks on the mattress. I am 140pd female side sleeper. I started with the latex version and have tried all kinds of configurations from plush to cushion-firm. What I’ve realized through this process is that I need soft latex on top for pressure relief for my myofascial pain syndrome that I’ve developed here in my 40s. But what I have also discovered is that no matter the base coil firmness (plush or firm), the medium latex layer in the middle is not enough to support my lower back. I have an opportunity to try the latex free version of the pillow top, and I need to decide if I want to order a med and soft microcoil or two medium microcoils.

Can anybody with experience trying both explain to me how the microcoils and latex layers differ in terms of support and pressure relief? Is the medium microcoil layer more supportive than medium latex? I know that Naturepedic does not offer a firm microcoil.

For comparison, I have tried:

  • Plush Coil>Medium Latex>Soft Latex = back pain
  • Firm Coil>Soft Latex>Soft Latex = too soft - didn’t get through more than a night
  • Firm Coil>Medium Latex>Soft Latex = back pain (but my favorite “feel”, sadly)
  • Firm Coil>Medium Latex>Medium Latex = too much pressure
  • Firm Coil>Firm Latex>Soft Latex = too much pressure
  • Plush Coil>Firm Latex>Soft Latex = This is the config I am on now and I haven’t spend enough nights on it to know if will also cause back pain (so far so good), but it gives enough pressure relief.

Now that I have a chance to try the micro coils, I was wondering if anyone had advice and suggestions so I can choose which two layers of microcoils to order. I know I can experiment combining them with the latex too.
