President's Day - Los Angeles area mattress recommendations?

Hello! I am in need of a new mattress and am hoping to take advantage of President’s Day sale pricing from a reputable local retailer. I definitely want to be able to go a showroom where I can try out some options. I’m in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles, but anyplace in the general LA area should work. It would be great to have a delivery option including setup.

My current bed is a Queen size Restonic Stress-O-Pedia with gel infused memory foam and pocketed coils. (Comfort Care firm with pillow top). I’ve only had it for about 5 1/2 years. I loved it for the first few years and it is still relatively comfortable, but I can feel some dipping - which I’ve likely made worse by not rotating it frequently enough.

  • I’m 5’3" 135 lbs. 54 yr-old female - primarily a side-sleeper, and I sleep alone.
  • Prone to lower back pain (esp. when traveling/sleeping in beds that aren’t right for me)
  • Recently, I’ve been experiencing some hip pain, making it difficult to get comfortable, and have even woken up with a numb arm a few times. (Also, just dealing with more general aches and joint pains in day to day life - because age :))
  • I LOVE the feel of a soft cushy bed that cradles, but also need more firm support for back pain issues.
  • I tend to sleep warm so want to avoid heat issues related to memory foam
  • Currently have a wood slat platform frame with a bunkie board and would prefer to keep that
  • Migraines make me particularly sensitive to off-gassing

I’d love to find a great mattress this weekend/Monday that will make my body happy and stand the test of time!

As for budget, I’m hoping to keep it in the $1500 or less range (factoring in Pres. Day sale pricing), but definitely need to keep it under $2k.

Any specific mattress recommendations as well as showroom/retailer recs would be greatly appreciated! If additional details would be helpful, please let me know.

I think the mattress for you will be BackScience 2 or 3. BS 2 is luxury firm for back and side sleepers. I have BS2. BS3 is more plush and is for side sleepers. Ultrabed/BackScience is in Agoura Hills.
