Requesting help for tempur cloud supreme breeze replacement

Hi,

I just found this site and forum this week and there’s a ton of great info, but I’m overwhelmed.

My wife and I bought and have loved our tempurpedic cloud supreme breeze in 2013. We have toyed with getting a new mattress over the last couple years but only to upsize to split king and adjustable base. We never did based on feeling like a waste when we loved it so much. Last week my daughter wet our bed and it got slightly through the protector and we washed the cover of the mattress. When it was off I noticed that our shoulder and hip areas were noticably softer than the foot area. We rotated the bed and it felt much better. We’ve had less soreness,so that tells me that it’s time to find a replacement.

I’m not pleased with the costs of another tempurpedic and the info here indicates that I shouldn’t have to pay that much for quality!

We’re allergy sufferers and not inner spring fans. Love the motion isolation on our bed. I do tend to sleep hot so I was definitely latex bed curious.

Both side plus back sleepers and less than 170 lbs
Our current mattress is made of these layers based on a post from Phoenix a decade ago on the site

2" TEMPUR-ES comfort layer 4.1 LB gel memory foam
2" TEMPUR Support Layer 5.3 LB memory foam (not polyfoam)
3.5" Airflow Base layer 2.2lb polyfoam
3.5" Airflow Base layer 2.2lb polyfoam

We also had bought a tuft and needle original mattress for my kids. This is definitely not as comfortable and causes shoulder pain and some back pain if I sleep on it for a couple of nights.

I’ve looked at @Sleep_EZ site which recommended soft/med/firm. Thinking using 3 inch talay on top.

I also looked at @Latex_Mattress_Fact1 that was showing medium firmness was med/med/firm. All Dunlop.

The @Arizona_Premium mattress site was confusing with the numbers for firmness.

If there’s any recommendations to get a similar feel to my tempurpedic I’d appreciate it!

@BackScience

I remember the Tempur Cloud Supreme Breeze well in the way it felt and the make-up of that mattress and it is on par with a few different Tempflow mattress options, such as our Tempflow EliteConforma Soft, which has a very similar make-up.

Latex is not a great option for you, since you just won’t get that conforming pressure relief you loved so much with your Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme Breeze. With that said, you could try the Back Science Series 2 Hybrid, since that mattress does have the best of both worlds, with our specially zoned Lumbar-Flex support for your back, but with the much needed pressure relief for your shoulders. It really depends on whether you feel like even with the rotation of your mattress, you feel that the extra support still wasn’t going to give you enough back support, since that is something you certainly won’t be lacking on the Back Science mattress. I hope that helps, but feel free to write back to this post our visit our www.Tempflow.com and/or www.BackScience.com websites for more info and if you would like, we can even set-up a call to discuss this in more detail. Also, if you do purchase, be sure to use our TMU10 discount code for either site to receive an additional 10% off as a TMU member.

Thank you for the response @BackScience . Looking at the Tempflow Elite Conforma you are recommending a soft, but then the Back Science Series 2 Hybrid seems to be a medium to firm (6-8/10) and described as firm support. When I googled the equivalent to what I have, tempur pedic pointed me to a medium feel mattress. One question would be do you think the Back Science would be too firm? Also how is the motion isolation on the Back Science mattress?

My wife does have lower back and hip pain, so the lumbar zone in the back science mattress is interesting. Also the pricing between the two beds you recommended is in the same ballpark which is makes the choice a bit more difficult, but I like the 365 night guarantee from the back science.

The current sale is really nice on Back Science, do you know how long it lasts? I’m not sure I can swing it for split king and adjustable base if the 25% goes off.

Another question for the adjustable base, if the head is raised up, how does this alter the support and alignment of the spine? Is it better than her propping up on pillows?

Thanks,
Eli

Those are great questions and while at first glance the two recommendations seem to be at odds with each other, the reason for those recommendations are two-fold. First, the Back Science mattress in a luxury-firm is similar to a medium-firm in overall feel, but the special zoning, the shoulders are going to feel more medium and plush enough to give a high level of pressure relief, whereas the special zoning of the lumbar spine enables a firmer support in the low back and hip region. Whereas with the Tempflow mattress, it will feel softer all the way throughout the whole mattress, but as you know from you current Tempur-Pedic mattress, a firmer density memory foam won’t feel as soft as what a non-memory foam mattress would feel in a soft. The other reason I recommended it this way was to give you two paths in case you wanted to stay with the more plush memory foam route vs. try the innovative zoned Back Science Hybrid route.

With that said, the Tempflow EliteConforma would also be a great fit in a medium and would give additional support, but not be as plush on the surface as compared to what you have currently (including how it was to start with).

As to the adjustable base, bringing your whole body, as well as the head-up is far different than just propping up on pillows, as pillows will tend to bend your upper body and/or put strain on the neck if not positioned perfectly. Also, if you get one of our bases that has the extra BackFlex lumbar support technology, it further allows for you to refine the support for your exact needs, which certainly can be an extra added advantage

There is an amazing sale that we have extended throughout this weekend on both brands and I am available to go over any details this weekend if you are feeling like you are still unsure and I would be happy to take a phone call to speak direct with you or answer any additional questions here or over email.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the information!

We are almost decided to purchase the back science series 2. I see that there are possibilities of adjustment of firmness if needed from the trials and reviews. How would that work for us not being local to LA? We’re outside of Asheville, NC.

I think we’re also leaning to the split top king to keep as much a feel of a single mattress as possible. We’re still kind of worried about the gap and how big that might be or feel. Does the mattress support /comfort change dramatically at that split region?

Also, on the adjustable bases, are they zero clearance and would fit inside a normal king headboard/footboard set?
