My wife is looking at a King Koil Rexford LF ET mattress which in the showroom she loves and I do a ton of research before a major purchase.
From what I have read it seems that different companies may name the same mattress differently. She seen the mattress at a sit-n-sleep in los angeles (hope Im allowed to say that) and the only places I can find the mattress were on the east coast in Mom and Pop stores. So I am left wondering if there’s a way to tell by manufacturing tag or some other means if other retailers are calling it something different?
I can not use a sku since those are store tags, so is there a way to search something like this?
Congrats on your new mattress shopping journey ! Good to hear that you both are working at researching the mattress purchase together and that you have found the articles and resources of the TMU useful. Also, good to know that you are able to make store visits for comparison shopping, a task that can be daunting in the best of times which has only become more tricky to navigate during COVID-19 times.
Using the link you enclosed for your question (thanks for that, it was quite helpful), I compared the King Koil Rexford Luxury Firm Euro Top mattress to several on King Koil’s web site and found that the Westlake Luxury Firm Euro Top seems to be of the same construction but featuring a different name under King Koil’s Intimate Collection series. It is not unusual for a mattress manufacturer to offer unique collections to their retail partners as a way to differentiate product offerings to different consumer markets. You can always reach out to the manufacturer via their contact forms and inquire where a particular collection can be found in your area if you are uncomfortable asking the retailer about other resources. When you say that “the only places I can find the mattress were on the east coast in Mom and Pop stores.”, why is that a concern?
By “manufacturing tag”, are you referring to the attached consumer law label? The law label is a manufacturing certification requirement that identifies materials, sourcing, manufacturer and caveats as required by individual state laws for content disclosure to the consumer. While you might see some subtle clues, such as a common manufacturer (each are assigned a URN/ Uniform Registry Number) , the label would not indicate a particular mattress “model” as such. The most reliable way to understand whether the same mattress has a different name or if a mattress collection is unique to a specific retailer is by researching the product specifications and asking questions of the retailer and manufacturer. More importantly is having the mattress specs for durability comparisons, as well as an understanding ofthe perfect mattress for you. Good luck with your mattress shopping, p.m.kuzda .
Did you wind up purchasing the King Koil Rexford LF ET ? If so, how is it going with it?
I’m currently looking at this one and want to learn about people’s experiences with it. Thanks
