Hello TMU community,
I’m very grateful to TMU and everybody that contributes!
Thanks to all I have read and the answers to the questions that I have posted, I’m now closer to purchasing a mattress that hopefully will match my PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences).
Based upon recommendation, I’m considering purchasing the SleepEZ 10" Organic mattress (Top: Soft Talalay, Middle: Medium Dunlop, Bottom: Firm Dunlop), or something very similar.
I’m 52, 5’ 9", 182 lbs, average built, shoulders somewhat wither then my hips, mostly side sleeper, occasionally on my stomach, almost never on my back. I tend to sleep hot.
I have stumbled upon comments about latex mattresses “feel”, and how the type of mattress cover, mattress protector and bed sheets, can affect/change the “feel” of the mattress. But I don’t recall any specifics.
I’ve never slept on a latex mattress, so I have no point of reference regarding the “fell”. Given that, I won’t be able to make any comparison. Would I be still missing out on something when it comes to the “feel” if I use the “wrong” mattress protector and/or bed sheets?
I know that SleepEZ includes a mattress protector with the purchase of a mattress (https://sleepez.com/products/sleep-calm-mattress-protector) . Somebody that wrote a very positive and detailed review regarding their mattress and their customer service, mentioned that the mattress protector was causing him temperature and comfort issues. After discussing the issue with SleepEZ, the reviewer opted to sleep on the mattress without any protector.
Can anybody else share their experience with the SleepEZ mattress protector?
I tend to sleep hot, so if it turns out that the SleepEZ mattress protector cause me temperature and comfort issues, I will want to fix that, but I wouldn’t want to leave the mattress unprotected.
Are there any “cool feeling” mattress protectors that I can use that won’t change/affect the mattress “feel”? Could this change in “feel” even matter in my case, since I have never slept on latex before?
Are there any type of mattress protectors that I should avoid for sure?
Since personal preferences are so different from person to person, just like there is no perfect mattress, there’s no perfect bed sheets. However, I imagine that having a general understanding of how different bed sheets affect the “feel” of a latex mattress, is as important as an understanding of the mattress itself.
Can anybody please share knowledge and/or experiences regarding how different types of bed sheets can affect/change the “feel” of the mattress?
As I mentioned, I tend to sleep hot, so bed sheets that help with that and can keep the “feel” of the mattress would be ideal, right?
