Select Sleep Hybrid - good option for me? Can I use with existing boxspring?

My wife and I currently have a KISS queen-size mattress and like it. We are moving and want to get a king size mattress for our new room. Our only criticism of the KISS is that I do sleep warmer on it than I did on previous innerspring (likely some S-brand) mattress.

We are considering the Select Sleep Hybrid for our next mattress, and have a couple questions:

  1. Do hybrid/pockted coils tend to sleep cooler than foam+latex mattresses, or at least will this hybrid tend to sleep cooler than the KISS mattress?
  2. For KISS mattress, we bought a foundation from SleepEZ, as we didn’t think the previous boxspring would work well with an all foam/latex mattress. Is the same true of a hybrid?

Thanks.

Hi Erik, thank you so much for reaching out and thanks for coming back to Sleep EZ! I’m very glad to hear you like the KISS mattress, that’s excellent news and always good to hear! A latex and coil hybrid will sleep a bit cooler than a latex and foam mattress mostly because there won’t be any poly-foam in the mattress, but also because the coils have much more empty space than latex. Aside from that, you can actually use a box spring with an all-latex mattress or a latex and coil hybrid, but we always recommend replacing the box spring within 5 years, and that should be done with any type of mattress really.

Thanks for replying back. Great to hear. We’ll be ordering the hybrid then.
