With the help of this great forum after trying many big box brand mattresses I ended up buying a Brooklyn Bedding 10" Total Latex queen mattress (3-3inch thick slabs of talalay latex, 36,32,28ILD). Purchased in may of 2013 so almost 10 years ago and we are still very happy with it.
The latex itself has held up very well and it is still very comfortable and the best bed I’ve ever owned and slept in. However, the bamboo/wool zipper topper that came with the mattress is the worse for wear, some staining that regular cleaning couldn’t take care of and holes.
I have reached out to BB but they do not sell this piece separately unfortunately. I know this is a shot in the dark but wondering if anyone else has/had this mattress and was able to find a replacement suitable zipper topper for it. I intend on keeping this mattress as long as possible, but it would be nice to refresh that piece. I would even consider replacing the entire mattress encasement, as the 3 latex layers could be separated, but would involve cutting the case apart since only the comfort layer is removable via zipper top. So trying to avoid that by just replacing the zipper top if possible.
