If a customer returns a latex mattress or exchanges one or more layers of latex, what do mattress companies do with that latex?
If the latex received by the mattress company in a customer return or exchange still appears to be new, do mattress companies ever integrate it back into their stock to be sold as new on someone else’s order?
I’d appreciate hearing back on this topic from each of the latex mattress suppliers that subscribe to TMU.
I think the idea of not selling returns is sort silly. I mean……most people dont have lice! We just throw the mattress in the landfill because someone slept on it for 20 days! Dont we technically sleep on used mattresses in a motel/hotel? To me….seems like a 1st world problem.
If I was in a 3rd world country and someone gave me a free mattress….I wouldnt care if someone slept on it!!!
When we replace a layer in one of our CST mattresses, we don’t ask that the replaced layer be returned. No need to put the customer through the hassle of packing up the layer, taking it to UPS, for us to just put it in the trash when we receive it.
WE NEVER REUSE PRODUCT. In my opinion, it’s unethical.
